Celebrating 40 Years of Great Music!

Welcome to the 2009/2010 Season of the BSO.seaon logo

We are well past the half way point of our season. And what a season it has been! But it is far from over. The busiest part of our season is ahead of us. Next concert is the Symphony's opportunity to showcase some of their very talented chairs with bassoon solosist Catherine Marchese and flute soloist Kelley Latshaw. If you want to hear great local talent, this concert will showcase it!

The next weekend we play side by side concerts. The first is at Bedford North Lawrence High School on Saturday February 27th with the Bedford North Lawrence Orchestra. Then on Sunday we play with the Bloomington Hoosier Youth Philharmonic. The soon to be announced winner of the Youth Concert Competition will be showcased at the Bloomington concert. Stay tuned for details!

Then, for our final concert of the season, on Saturday, May 1st (an earlier calendar incorrectly had the date as May 4th) the Bloomington Symphony plays Mahler's 1st symphony! As we write this, the horn section is wood shedding their parts, the maestro is studying the score and the strings are setting their bowings to insure that the performance would make Mahler proud. You won't want to miss it!

We thank all of our patrons and supporters for helping us celebrate our 40th birthday and for helping us provide our community with 40 years of great music and program activities.

Click on the Current Concert Season Tab on the left menu for details on our concert and educational programs.
Please check our website often for more information and updates. We hope you will join us in a truly great season of music, entertainment and educational opportunities.
