Information
UNDERWATER. The Town of Fairfax is located SSE of "the Fairfax Loop
about 1500 feet and about 30 - 40 feet deep. In the 1980s the water level
was lowered in an attempt to be ready for antisipated winter weather and water
that would be held in the reservior. The water level was so low the Fairfax
re-surfaced. After a very muddy walk out to up-town Fairfax (NW side)
everything was coated with mud. You could see bricks, wells, limestone
peers used as foundations. Is was like a walk back in time after a mud
storm. All that was left was materials that would not rot underwater.
